HVAC Drain Pan Restoration
HVAC Drain Pan Restoration Services in Kansas City
Over time, condensate pans become corroded and surfaces become irregular. Restoration efforts to stop the rusting and pitting of the drain pan will certainly extend the life of the AHU (Air Handling Unit). Midwest Duct Cleaning offers corrective measures to resurface the pan with an anti-corrosion metal re-surfacer, which ensures proper draining of the pan.
Water leaking from HVAC units installed in your attic or basement is messy and causes secondary damage, so it’s essential HVAC leaks and leaking drain pans are fixed by repairing or refurbishing the drain pans.

How We Fix an AC Drip Pan
At Midwest Duct Cleaning, we start with V570, a vertical re-surfacer used to fill cracks, refurbish, stop corrosion and provide a solid bonding surface for Pancrete. V570 is more viscous and typically used for vertical metal surfaces.
What is Pancrete?
Pancrete is essentially a "drain pan in can". Pancrete is a horizontal re-surfacer, which we use to resurface an existing HVAC condensate drain pan, creating a brand new pan! It’s permanent, self-leveling and puts a stop to damaging leaks. It is also water repellant and submersible.
Once the HVAC system is shut down, the re-surfacer is prepped and the drain pan surface is cleaned, we pour the re-surfacer at a depth of a quarter inch. Your HVAC system should be up and running with-in the next 4 to 6 hours.
Benefits of Drain Pan Restoration
Stagnant Water
Pancrete's self-leveling capability eliminates hills and valleys where water pooling can occur and prevents growth of bacteria and fungus.
Corrosive Chemicals
Use of alkaline (non-acid) or acid coil cleaners cause corrosion of not only aluminum fin surfaces, but also of the galvanized drain pan.
Early Replacement of Equipment
Minimize the risk of premature replacement of the AHU, costing tens of thousands, and resulting in extensive downtime.
Loss of Structural Integrity
In many cases, corrosion has proceeded so far as to decrease the structural integrity of the pan.
