Restaurant Hood Cleaning in Kansas City

Running a restaurant is more than serving great food. You are also responsible for keeping your kitchen safe, compliant, and comfortable for staff and guests. One of the biggest risks in a commercial kitchen is grease build-up inside the exhaust system. That is why NFPA 96 requires professional cleaning of hoods, ducts, and fans.

Midwest Duct Cleaning has been serving restaurants in Kansas City since 1986. Our certified technicians, including specialists with Certified Exhaust Cleaning credentials and NADCA certifications, provide complete hood and exhaust cleaning that protects against fire hazards, improves airflow, and keeps you inspection-ready.

Why Hood Cleaning Matters

Every year, thousands of restaurant fires are linked to grease build-up in exhaust systems. Grease is highly flammable, and once it ignites inside the ductwork, the fire can spread quickly through the building.

Regular hood cleaning provides several benefits:

  • Fire safety: Reduces the risk of a grease fire that could damage your business.
  • Health compliance: Meets fire marshal and health department requirements.
  • Better airflow: Improves kitchen ventilation and reduces smoke and odors.
  • Equipment protection: Keeps fans, motors, and filters from overworking due to grease buildup.
  • Insurance coverage: Many insurance companies require proof of NFPA 96 compliance to maintain coverage.

Skipping cleanings can put your license, insurance, and business reputation at risk. We make it easy to stay ahead with reliable scheduling and full documentation.

NFPA 96 Compliant Cleaning

NFPA 96 is the national standard for ventilation control and fire protection in commercial kitchens. Inspectors expect to see that hoods, ducts, and fans are kept free of grease.

Our team delivers a cleaning process that aligns with these requirements. At the end of each job, you receive:

  • Before-and-after photos of your system
  • Detailed service report to share with inspectors or insurers
  • Next cleaning schedule recommendation

This documentation saves you stress during inspections and shows that your kitchen is always in compliance.

Excellent Service!

Excellent service! The crew called when they were on their way and arrived as scheduled. They were very professional and extremely respectful of my home, putting back items that were moved and cleaning up after themselves. My final bill was less than I expected: cleaning the furnace is one of the services included in the base charge, and the crew saw that they didn't need to do that cleaning. (I have the furnace serviced and cleaned regularly.) They could have charged me the full amount, and I would have been none the wiser. How uplifting to work with an honest business! Teresa in the office was accessible and very pleasant to work with. I did my research before selecting this company to work in my home, and I highly recommend.
